How to connect ?

'Web Pairing' is the standard connection method on Android

(VLC remote will try to discover your computer automagically, but that doesn't work for all versions of Android)

Launch the VLC Setup Helper

On your computer, run the VLC Setup Helper (which you can get at www.HobbyistSoftware.com/VLC )

1. Click on the 'Setup VLC' button
2. Click on 'Run web pairing helper'
3. On your Android Phone, click the 'Add Computer' button and enter the pairing code.

That's it! VLC Remote should get the address of VLC and make the connection.

Enter the IP address manually

If something doesn't work, you can enter the connection details manually

1. Run the setup helper on your computer, and click on the 'advanced' tab. This will show the IP addresses of your computer
2. On your Android Phone, click 'Add Computer' then click 'Add Manually...'
3. Enter the IP address of your computer and a name you'd like to give it.
